Dr. Wim A. Timmermans, advocaat (member of the Dutch Bar)
Dr. Timmermans studied Slavic languages and law in Leiden. He specializes in international trade and investment law – including Public Private Partnerships – and, also, international commercial arbitration. He is on the list of arbitrators of the Court of International Commercial Arbitration attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (Moscow), the London Court of International Arbitration, the Ukrainian Court of International Commercial Arbitration, the Kazakhstan International Arbitration Court, as well the Maritime Arbitration Commission attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (Moscow).
On 28 February 2013, the supervisory council of the Moscow Stock Exchange (MMVB-RTS) appointed a number of foreign lawyers arbitrator in the Arbitration Commission of the OJSC Moscow Exchange MMVB-RTS, among which Dr Wim A Timmermans, attorney at law in Leiden, The Netherlands. Said Arbitration Commission hears disputes arising out of transactions or operations with currency, securities, derivatives, other financial instruments, commodities, and other civil law disputes. Dr Timmermans is specialized in international business law – with special focus on Eastern Europe. He is already acting as an arbitrator in a number of other arbitral tribunals, including London Court of International Arbitration, International Commercial Arbitration Court (Moscow), Maritime Arbitration Commission (Moscow), International Commercial Arbitration Court (Kiev), Kazakhstan International Arbitration (Almaty).
Prof.dr. William B. Simons, attorney-at-law (member of the Wisconsin Bar, USA)
Professor Simons studied Russian area studies at Carleton College (Northfield, MN) and law at the University of Wisconsin (Madison, WI). He specializes in international trade and investment law and, also, international commercial arbitration. He is Professor of East European law at Leiden University, The Netherlands. In addition, Professor Simons is an arbitrator in Russia and Kazakhstan.
Roustam Vakhitov studied law in Russia (Novosibirsk and Ekaterinburg, RF) and in Leiden. He specializes in international taxation with his primary practice area that of advising clients on Russian international tax structuring and transactions involving financial instruments and capital market projects, including Islamic finance. Roustam is the Deputy Head of the Russian Branch of the International Fiscal Association. He also is a member of Coordination Council of the Russian Association of Experts in Islamic Finance.
