Dr. Timmermans specializes in international trade, investment and business law (including
Public Private Partnerships) and, also, international commercial arbitration. He is on the list
of arbitrators of the Court of International Commercial Arbitration and the Maritime
Arbitration Commission (Moscow), both attached to the Chamber of Commerce and
Industry of the Russian Federation, the London Court of International Arbitration, the
Ukrainian Court of International Commercial Arbitration, the German DIS (Deutsches
Institut für Schiedsgerichtbarkeit), and VIAC (Vienna International Arbitration Centre).

and arbitration tribunals in The Netherlands and UK.

Roustam Vakhitov is an expert in international taxation and, concurrently, is Of Counsel at
Timmermans & Simons, the Managing Partner at International Tax Associates BV (Almere,
The Netherlands), and Partner at Crowe Expertiza LLC (Moscow).
He previously worked for leading consulting firms in Russia, Ukraine, Luxembourg, and The
Netherlands including Baker Tilly, Deloitte & Touche, EY, Van Mens & Wisselink, and the
Pepeliaev Group.
Roustam has been addressing international taxation issues since 2002, specializing in tax
structuring and consulting (grounded in international tax treaties), supporting transactions
(including the use of financial instruments), structuring private investments (funds), and
dealing with international mergers and acquisitions (also involving Islamic finance
transactions).
He is a member of the Russian and Ukrainian Branches of the International Fiscal
Association (IFA).
